Welcome to GrindTree.ie ("GrindTree", "we", "us"). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and services. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.
1. Platform Role
GrindTree is a marketplace platform only. We connect Leaving Certificate students with independent tutors who offer grinds. We do not provide tutoring services ourselves and we do not guarantee any educational outcomes, exam results, or grade improvements. Tutors are independent service providers, not employees or agents of GrindTree.
2. Student Responsibilities
As a student you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.
- Attend booked sessions on time and ready to participate.
- Follow each tutor's reasonable policies (e.g. notice periods, materials).
- Use the platform respectfully and lawfully.
- Pay for sessions through the platform — never off-platform.
3. Tutor Responsibilities
As a tutor you agree to:
- Provide accurate profile, qualification and listing information.
- Deliver booked sessions professionally and on time.
- Keep your availability up to date and honour confirmed bookings.
- Comply with all applicable Irish laws.
- Hold and maintain any qualifications, Garda vetting or insurance you advertise.
Tutors must also accept the separate Tutor Agreement.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. GrindTree automatically deducts a platform commission from each booking and may charge additional service fees, which are disclosed before checkout. All prices are in Euro (EUR) and inclusive of any applicable VAT where stated.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Cancellation deadlines and refund eligibility are displayed at the point of booking.
6. Reviews
Only students who have completed a paid booking with a tutor may leave a review of that tutor. Fake, incentivised, defamatory or manipulated reviews are strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.
7. Intellectual Property
The GrindTree name, logo, branding, website, software and content are the property of GrindTree and protected by Irish and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify or redistribute our content without written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, GrindTree is not liable for:
- Tutor performance or teaching quality.
- Examination results or academic outcomes.
- The conduct of students or tutors.
- Indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Account Suspension
We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for:
- Fraud or attempted fraud.
- Abuse or harassment of users or staff.
- Fake reviews or rating manipulation.
- Misrepresentation of identity or qualifications.
- Any breach of these Terms or our policies.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
