This Tutor Agreement is between you ("Tutor") and GrindTree.ie ("GrindTree"). You must accept this Agreement before publishing any listing on the platform. It applies in addition to our Terms & Conditionsand Privacy Policy.
1. Independent Contractor Status
You are an independent service provider. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, partnership, agency or joint-venture relationship with GrindTree. You are free to set your own rates, hours and teaching methods, subject to the platform's policies.
2. Tax Responsibility
You are solely responsible for declaring and paying all taxes and social contributions on income earned through GrindTree, including (where applicable):
- Income tax
- VAT
- PRSI and USC
- Any other taxes required by Irish law or your country of residence
You must comply with Irish Revenue requirements and keep your own records.
3. Accuracy of Information
You must provide accurate, truthful and up-to-date information regarding:
- Your identity and contact details.
- Your qualifications, certifications and Garda vetting status (where stated).
- Your experience and the subjects/levels you offer.
4. Service Standards
You agree to:
- Deliver booked sessions professionally and prepared.
- Communicate with students respectfully and promptly.
- Honour all confirmed bookings except in genuine emergencies.
- Maintain a safe, appropriate environment (online or in-person).
5. Payments & Payouts
Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe onboarding before receiving payouts. GrindTree's platform commission is automatically deducted from each booking; the remainder is paid out to your connected bank account according to the platform's payout schedule (typically after the session is marked complete).
6. Ratings & Reviews
Students may leave reviews after completed sessions. Reviews influence your ranking and visibility on the platform. Repeated poor ratings, cancellations or complaints may result in warnings, reduced visibility, or suspension.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Misrepresent your qualifications, identity or experience.
- Harass, discriminate against or behave inappropriately toward any user.
- Circumvent the platform's payment system.
- Solicit or accept off-platform payments for bookings originated through GrindTree.
- Share student personal data with third parties.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
8. Working with Minors
Many Leaving Cert students are under 18. You must conduct yourself professionally at all times, follow safeguarding best practice, and obtain any vetting required by Irish law for the type of work you perform.
9. Suspension & Termination
GrindTree may suspend or remove your account for:
- Fraud or attempted fraud.
- Repeated cancellations or no-shows.
- Fake reviews or attempted manipulation of rankings.
- Misconduct toward students or staff.
- Any breach of this Agreement or platform policies.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify GrindTree against any claims arising from your conduct, your services, your tax affairs, or your breach of this Agreement, to the fullest extent permitted by Irish law.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.
